Senior Web Infrastructure Engineer
Description:
Magnify.net is seeking an experienced web infrastructure engineer to help us manage our rapid growth. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the delivery of our SaaS web video application in such a way as to provide for extremely high availability, minimum response time, and a high degree of scalability.
Candidates will be expected to have 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure for high availability web applications. The ideal candidate will have worked in a startup environment and will be comfortable working with a small close-knit team. In addition to server infrastructure management, another responsibility of this position will be technical architecture and assistance with the development of new products and features. This position may also perform some database admin functions in support of MySQL database system.

Required skills: • At least 5 years experience managing infrastructure for a high availability web based application delivering more than 1 million dynamic requests per day • Experience with MySQL, Apache, Load Balancing, Database replication, performance tuning, Caching, data normalization and database architecture are all key to this role. • Understanding of professional software development processes. Including familiarity with the cycles of requirements definition, issue tracking, version control, automated testing, deployment and maintenance. • Clear and articulate communication, both written and spoken. • Strong desire to learn and be a part of a small, driven team.
Desired skills: • Experience with PERL, HTML, CSS, object oriented application development • Relevant startup experience is a plus, but not necessarily a requirement • Experience in systems administration, database administration, especially replication and performance tuning. • Experience working with a managed hosting provider

LAMP Developer for Web Video Platform

Magnify.net is seeking an experienced developer to join our tech team. The ideal candidate will have a background building high-volume, large-scale LAMP-based web applications. We are open to candidates with knowledge of multiple scripting languages, including, but not limited to: Perl, PHP or Python.

Desired skills: • Experience with HTML::Mason, DBIx::SQLEngine, and Cache::Memcached. • Experience in systems administration, database administration, especially replication and performance tuning. • Ajax, OO JavaScript, and/or AS2/3 experience a plus.
